Mercury Retrograde August 2 – 26, 2011
Four astrological signs will be the MOST effected by this retrograde period! Leo's, Virgo's, Pisces, and Aquarius. This doesn't mean that the rest of the signs are out of hot water, your water is hot, those four signs are boiling hot! Mercury retrograde entered the shadow period of the retrograde on July 15th, so you will already be feeling some of the issues associated with it: car problems, phone problems, fighting or miscommunications, money coming in slowly.... Remember, do NOT buy any electronic items, anything related to communication, be careful of communicating the wrong thing (it may come out opposite than you want); do not sign any documents.... Usually I would speak about starting a new relationship, and why you shouldn't, however this particular retrograde period has a very specific relationship component, it wants you to evaluate what you have, had, and want. So that could mean closing the door on a past relationship so you can move forward. Evaluating a current relationship and determining if it truly meets your needs. Thinking about what you really want in a relationship and going after it (slowly of course till Mercury goes direct...then you can move it as quickly as you like!!! Mercury will actually retrograde on August 2nd at 1 degree of Virgo. This means that this retrograde period is a time to sort through old, worn out perspectives/thoughts; a time to clear the clutter of ideologies/beliefs and thought patterns that are entrenched but not useful any more. Retrograde Mercury wants you to contemplate this; not to take radical action. The actual retrograde on August 2nd is loosely opposite Neptune who will be leaving Pisces and returning to Aquarius for one last fling on August 4th. Neptune will not return to Pisces again till February 4th.This is an unusual retrograde period as the interesting thing about this is that the actual opposition between Mercury and Neptune is not exact until August 8th. This opposition will occur in Leo at 29 degrees. There is a theme associated with 29 degrees...this theme is usually the end of the end but not quite the beginning of the beginning. What does that mean for Leo's, Virgo's, Pisces, and Aquarius? (and to a certain extent the rest of the signs) Chaos, change and revolution. Hold on to your socks, change is coming big time for those four signs and not so big time for the other signs. This SUGGESTS that there is a radical change in the ways we think as well as the things that we think about!The conjunction of Mercury to the Sun which is the heart of the retrograde will also include Venus and it is exact on the 16th of August at 23 degrees of Leo. The days leading up to and just after August 23rd are good for the deepest thoughts of your attachments. This is a time to look at attachments of the heart vs. attachments of the mind. This particular aspect is about LOVE. You need to spend time thinking about your current relationships, do you love this person you are with? OR do you think you love this person? Do you have a lack of relationship in your life? OR a bad relationship history so you feel that you are undeserving of love? Have you been in disastrous relationships because you have chosen the wrong people? Is there someone standing right before your eyes that you would never consider as a romantic partner but may actually be your best romantic partner? Virgo and Pisces are direct opposites, Leo and Aquarius are direct opposites. Virgo and Pisces are all about service (Virgo) and compassion (Pisces). Leo and Aquarius are all about social reality, Leo is about love and fun; Aquarius is about friendship and fun!All in all, this Mercury retrograde period is about Virgo and Pisces as well as Leo and Aquarius: Our sense of compassion and service as well as our social reality. Thus becoming more aware of your social reality will help you move into a more compassionate caring for this world which will be intensely required when Neptune moves into Pisces next February. Mercury goes direct on August 26th, but you need to wait for a good two weeks after September 9th (second shadow period) to really move things along romantically, end things, buy electronics and being able to communicate and be understood!
